Review: Both were written and talked about the taxi driver who seems almost redundant to add more. But looking at it again the other night for my na hour, I Whenever Ive had it, struck by just how excellent this film. It is a powerful and disturbing now as it was twenty-five years. It is not just old, it gets more and more important in years. This is undoubtedly a modern classic, and one of the truly great, movies.Scorsese timeless and Schrader went on to make other great films after that, two separate (one of Comedy, light sleep) and together (Raging Bull, the ultimate disappointment of Christ), but that is the simple movie best of their work. And Robert De Niros too. He has yet to top his impressive performance as a Vietnam veteran disturbed deep humanity and Travis Bickle, a taxi driver and a murderer. This character has not entered a surprisingly meaningful film. Scorsese surrounding De Niro, with support division first, including a small role but the effectiveness of Harvey Keitel (Reservoir Dogs), Peter Boyle (hardcore), the underrated Victor Argo (New York) and Joe spinel (Maniac). Albert Brooks and Jodie Foster is the best, and even Cybil Shepherd, butt of the joke, many are adjusted obsession Bickles. When you combine these actors, Schraders script prominent, and the brilliant Scorsese, with a photograph spectacular (Michael Chapman) and note Haunting (trying fave Hitchcock Bernard Herrmanns end), you have your own experience The kinematics unforgettable really. If you havent seen taxi drivers I urge you to do so immediately. It is a masterpiece, pure and simple.
